After two years of virtual and local conferences, we finally got out of our comfort zone and made the trip to Europe for some fantastic in-person science discussion! Ruby lectured and Nathan attended the IUTAM-CISM Summer School and Deformation and Convection in Porous Media: Geophysical and Biological Flows, in Udine, Italy. The following week, part of the group participated in the Gordon Research Conference on Flow and Transport in Permeable Media, in Les Diablerets, Switzerland. We visited Glacier 3000 during the conference, and touched some real snow, ice and meltwater :)
